Contacts Jeffrey Banning 1979-Trinity Transport, Inc. was formed in Cambridge, MD by J. Edward Banning and his wife, Deana Cox Banning, to operate as a truck brokerage. The name "Trinity" was chosen by both co-founders separately, and then officially named by the Christian pair to allow their business to bring glory to God. The first logo bore the words "peace, faith, and truth" around a triangle with the map of the United States in the center.
1980-Corporate headquarters moved into a mobile office at the front of a dirt road leading to the farmhouse on the Banning's farm in Federalsburg, MD.
1990-Trinity begins its agency program, expanding brand awareness and service territories all over the United States.
1991-Jeff Banning, eldest son of J. Edward Banning, purchased majority stock in Trinity Transport, Inc. and became President & CEO.
1994-Trinity's logo changed to include the words, "Carrier, Shipper, Worldwide", replacing the map of the United States with a globe in the center of the triangle.
1995-Corporate headquarters moved into a 2800 sq ft building on a 23 acre tract of land on busy Route 13 in Bridgeville, DE.
1997-Trinity's logo changed to the circle and triangle, with the name of the company and its location appearing separately.
1998-Another 2,500 square feet were added onto the original building to accommodate growth.
1998-Trinity began sending out newsletters to clients, carriers, and team members & launched its first website.
1998-Billy Banning, youngest son of J. Edward Banning and a former Marine, launched Trinity Distribution Services, an asset-based division of the firm.
1999-Another 1000 square feet were added onto the building. More growth!
2001-Accounting Manager, Ronda Banning, CTB, wife of President Jeff Banning, is featured on the cover of "Women in Trucking magazine". Trinity was moving 50,000 loads annually at this point.
2001-Trinity's logo changed to a burgundy swoosh filled with the company name and tagline underneath to read, "Our Pride Carries".
2002-Darrel Banning, 2nd eldest son of J. Edward Banning, takes over Trinity Distribution Services, located in Seaford, DE.
2002-Official recruiting begins at local universities for the best and brightest college graduates to join the team!
2003-Trinity opens a Regional Service Center is Kansas City, MO with an affiliate office in Denison, IA.
2004-Trinity celebrates 25th year anniversary of serving others.
2005-The Trinity Foundation was established as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization to funnel the already existing efforts of the employees into a more organized system, giving back thousands annually to hundreds of charities across the nation.
2007-Corporate headquarters moved into a renovated bowling alley in Seaford, DE to accommodate the explosion of growth and prepare for anticipated future growth.
2007-Trinity becomes 2nd largest employer of Certified Transportation Brokers (CTB's) in the US.
2008-Trinity opens a Regional Service Center in Euless, TX (Dallas/Ft Worth Metroplex).
2009-Trinity revamps in house software and launches a new and improved website, featuring additional options for carriers and easier access to information for all users.
2009-Trinity celebrates its 30th year anniversary of serving others.
2009-Trinity joins Responsible Care Partnership
2009-Trinity is once again ranked in the Top 20 Freight Brokers in the Nation by Transport Topics magazine (#18).
2009-Trinity launches a new "Customized Logistics Division", pairing experienced team members with a web-based transportation management system (TMS) to offer complete customized freight management tools.
2010-Trinity launches official Intermodal Division to offer shippers an economic alternative to over-the-road trucking services.
2010-Trinity is named 3rd Top Workplace in Delaware by the Delaware News Journal.
2011-Ranked #21 among Top Freight Brokers in the Nation by Transport Topics Magazine.
2011-Received Edward M. Rush, Sr. Memorial Award as an outstanding family-owned and operated Better Business Bureau member that exemplifies the ideals of community and civic services.
