Some of our earmold innovations include the tragus earmold, the advanced design free field mold and the use of a silicone canal in conjunction with hard materials. The first floating swim plugs were introduced by Microsonic. We also developed the popular Tube Lock and patented Tube Lock Plus connectors, and have introduced to America a number of established European materials and methods. Another significant contribution is the Custom Earmold Manual, which includes the most up-to-date information and the newest developments in the field. Although initially published as a guide for our customers, Audiology departments at many colleges and universities saw the value of the clarity and completeness of the Manual and began using it as a teaching guide and textbook. Microsonic is participating in today's explosion of non-hearing-aid uses of custom molded otoplastics. Originally limited to protective plugs for both water and sound exposure, Microsonic has expanded into products for the musician - including custom and universal monitors - and earpieces for telephones and entertainment devices
