Angel Snugs, Inc. is a 501c3 non-profit organization that comforts children fighting cancer with their handmade knitted and crocheted scarves and beanies-"snugs". However, we do not just provide snugs to the children, but train others to make the snugs so that we will always have a supply available for the children. Our principle is based on Lao Tzu's statement, "Give a Man a Fish, Feed Him For a Day. Teach a Man to Fish, Feed Him For a Lifetime." If we wait for donations of snugs to come in, we will never be able to meet the demands of snugging all of the children fighting the battle of their lives. However, if we teach others how to make snugs, we will have a constant supply. We only need to provide the tools and materials and they'll help us with the other invaluable tool needed-time.

Teaching youth groups to make snugs will not only have children helping children, but for those that have a family member fighting cancer, it can help them to not only cope with what is happening to their sibling or relative, but give them a sense of purpose and help them to feel that they are contributing to helping that child through their fight. We even have hopes that it may encourage them to further their education into a field that will help children fighting cancer, i.e., therapist, researcher, scientist, doctor, patient resource.
